Karaoke List Pro Hoster — Setup Guide
From a fresh machine to running your first show. Once you're set up, the full reference covers every button and setting.
1Install
- Run KaraokeListProHoster-Setup.exe (you'll receive it from us). It installs in seconds and puts Karaoke List Pro Hoster on your desktop and Start menu.
- From then on the app updates itself: new versions download quietly in the background and apply the next time you start it — never in the middle of a show. Your current version shows bottom-right of the player and on the Settings tab.
2Add your songs
- Go to the Song Database tab, add every folder that holds your karaoke files (.zip or .cdg+.mp3 pairs — subfolders are included), and scan.
- A big library takes a few minutes the first time; after that the app remembers everything and startup is fast. Rescan whenever you add new songs.
3Sign in to your songbook
- On the Settings tab, enter your host account email and password under Songbook Connection and connect. (No account yet? Email sales@karaokelistpro.com.)
- Once connected: patron song requests appear on the Live Show tab, your rotation publishes live to the songbook, and your show code shows in the Song Requests header — that code is what singers type in, and what your QR code points at.
- The app remembers the sign-in and reconnects automatically every time you start it.
Signing in also fills your QR code automatically (if you haven't set your own URL)
and puts your show code on the scrolling banner.
4Set up the audience screen
- Click the monitor button on the Live Show tab to open the CD+G display window, drag it to your second screen / projector, and double-click it for fullscreen. The app remembers where it was — including whether it was open — for next time.
- On the Banner tab, set your scrolling banner wording, the between-songs background image and text, and check the QR code. Save it all as a venue profile — each room you work becomes a one-click load.
- If the venue's TV cuts off the edges of the picture, the Display tab's Screen Fit shrinks it until everything shows.
5KaraFun (optional, needs a KaraFun subscription)
With KaraFun connected, its whole catalog plays through your show alongside your own files — one search covers both.
- Install KaraFun Player from karafun.com and sign in to it once with your KaraFun subscription account.
- In the Hoster's KaraFun tab, tick Enable Karafun Integration. The app finds the player automatically — if it says it can't, click Locate… and point at the KaraFun program once.
- Click Import Karafun Catalog. KaraFun's songs now appear in your search results marked KF, and play through the KaraFun player when you start one.
- Leave Start KaraFun with the Hoster on — the player launches and connects during your setup time, so the first KaraFun song of the night starts instantly.
- Choose your screen style: with Show KaraFun lyrics in my CD+G display ON, KaraFun's picture appears inside your own display window, keeping your banner, QR code and branding on screen; if mirroring stutters on a weaker laptop, drop Mirror quality or turn mirroring off — the app then manages KaraFun's own window on the audience screen automatically.
- Leave Download queued KaraFun songs ahead of time on. Venue wifi is the one thing you can't fix mid-show — queued songs download while singers wait so they play locally. Test Internet Speed on the same tab tells you what the room's connection can do.
6Run a show
- Add singers, drag songs onto them (or right-click a search result), and press Play Next. The rotation, banner and songbook all follow along by themselves.
- The full reference covers everything else — requests, background music, singer history, remembered keys, and more.
Coming from CompuHost? Settings ▸ CompuHost ▸ Import From CompuHost…
brings your entire singer history across — every singer, every song they've sung, and their remembered
key changes — usually found automatically, even years of it. CompuHost itself is never modified, so
there's no risk in trying it.
